Recruiting New Executives!

​SAGE is looking for new volunteers to fill executive positions! If you have an interest in supporting and advocating for seniors and long-term care, please read below for the various exec role responsibilities. The application form can be found at bit.ly/3zzq0Jw. The deadline is 11:59 PM EST, August 23rd.
Communications:
  • Contacting care homes across Ontario for potential partnerships with SAGE via Companion Calls
  • Form community partnerships with organizations and residential areas to promote Companion Calls to seniors in the community
  • Onboarding and connecting Companion Call volunteers to care homes and seniors; hosting training sessions
  • Assist in facilitating Companion Calls at long-term care homes via in-person visits
  • Consistently providing SAGE mailing list with new volunteer opportunities as they arise​​​

Finances:
  • Managing SAGE’s income and expenses by maintaining receipts and records of all transactions
  • Develop and monitor budgets for SAGE projects
  • Search for and apply for external grants and funding for new projects by drafting project proposals
  • Brainstorm new funding ideas, ensuring ethical standards are followed when dealing with finances

Outreach:
  • Managing and brainstorming new collaborations and initiatives with organizations and businesses
  • Reaching out to organizations and businesses for collaborative projects
  • Recruiting, interviewing, and training new outreach volunteers

Education & Advocacy:
  • Staying up-to-date with latest developments and updates in the geriatric care sector (vaccines, COVID-19, long-term care homes, nursing, palliative care, etc.)
  • Collaborating with social media department to create easily digestible and informative posts for the general public
  • Writing critiques, analyses, or informative summaries of prevalent issues or research studies within geriatric and palliative healthcare and translating it to communications for the general public

Social Media:
  • Creating and editing graphic designs, videos, photos, social media posts, and Google Forms for posts that require data collection
  • Managing, organizing, and updating sageproject.ca, all social media outlets, SAGE Google Drive, and SAGE email inbox
  • Monitoring and maximizing post engagement by interacting with other social media users and organizations
  • Collaborating with other execs for updates to post on social media
